Starting at Mornington locacted at the end of Main Street Morington, a little over an hour's drive from Melbourne. boats, and beach huts are worth a shot. on the way out from the pier turn right at the round about old Post Office on the corner this is now The Esplanade two Hotels on your left, .
Your next stop is Mt. Martha 7km or 8min drive.
Here there are car parks on both sides of the road and toiliet blocks, good shots of beach including beach huts, at the other end of the beach there is a small car park, shots of the beach can be taken from here also, shots from the small bridge will keep your camera busy, there is a short walk around the waters edge, shots of the jetty and there is some bird life here.
The next leg 14km takes you along a winding road not a good place to stop, and weekends it's shared with cyclists. As you head for your next stop at McCrae Light House, Arthur's Seat can be seen up to your left.
Parking here is ample, we sugest the beach side for your shots of the light house and try your skills here, but whatever side you choose can be a challenge..
A stop at Rosebud West at Nepean Highway and Burnet St 7km or 12min is a little hard to find , at low tide well worth a stop with boats and birds on the sand bar and most times Black Swans feeding on weed along the foreshore. (tight for parking here)
Your next stop is Sorrento 12km or 12min.There's a lot to see here and a lunch break, may be. the foreshore here has a lot of scope once again to get you thinking. Around the Ferry Terminal is a good place to park..
The next stop is not far 1.1km or 2min-hard to find but not to be missed as you drive towards Portsea ,a small church on your right is the land mark. Cars can be left here and a short walk to your next adventure, continue to Lentellal Ave. on your right, walk to the end of the street, on the left there is a (blue to green) looking gate, this is a public walkway and should keep you snapping for some time. Limited parking here.
On to Portsea about 6km or 10min. After you drive through the entrance on the Defence road until you reach Gunners Cottage. This stop should not be missed with what is left of the old pier dating back to settlement days, you will need to be creative here and better at low tide. Coles track will take you there 350m or via the Cemetery Walk 400m
The way out takes you past the Information and Quaratine Centre here you can buy a ticket for a bus ride to the old fort and the heads, you could spend the best part of a day on Point Nepean .
Now head back to Sorrento Turn right into Ocean Beach Road
We suggest you visit the Ocean beach here at the far end of town, coffee time and more shots of the area.
Total for this 9km or 13min.

As you head back towards Sorrento thinking you have taken a lot of photos, we have two more stops for you just on sunset. At the first roundabout TURN RIGHT. this is the Old Melbourne Road follow on to the end 9.5km then right again this is now Dundas Road 9.5km, turn left into Browns Road 2.5km at the T-intersection 2.2km you turn right, this is Truemans Road, follow this road to Gunnamatta surf beach, here you will find many places to park, there is a lot here to get you thinking about the shot you wish to take home - surfers , fisherman, horse riders at times, rocks to the right and Cape Schank Light House is at the far end (total of 22.5 kms, 22minutes for this trip.
Not far along Truemas as you head back back, the first big turn(keep alert for this turn)to the right this ia Limestone Road, Right again this is Rosebud to Flinders Road or Boneo Road keep on this road past the National Golf Club untill you reach the sign for Cape Schanck and Lighthouse a short drive to a large car park and a toilet block. There is alot here to see and challanges here for you ,such as the lighthouse around sunset.
One small tip,you do not have to walk far away from the car park to get these shots.

There are many attractions on the Peninsula that can be found through information centres, and
google maps to find locations..
If you are heading back to Melbourne turn LEFT as you leave.
NOTE December until January is holiday time and we advise to keep clear of coastal roads as there can be long delays..
